One Portion of Sack Pipe Haggis with Shredded Memories

Show run; 16th August - 23rd September 2022

The flag and banner are situated outside of the Generator building in our garden space so can be viewed any day, all day!

This exhibition by brothers Christoph and Sebastian Mügge is about what is passed on to the next generation after the passing of a human life.

This rather serious topic is approached with humour in the brother’s collaborative works. Absurd collages that are printed on a banner and a flag show things like shredded pages, bin bags, brooms, bones, kilts, details of microchips, a floppy disk in a meat grinder, a bottle of whiskey with an X, hybrids of bag pipes and haggis, blue tartan and Scottish flags, a sheep with an X and several other X’s.

Is our legacy of greater value or is all we leave behind just national cliches, kitsch and trash?
